Al Jazeera America’s Paul O’Brien reports from London, where the UK’s Parliament has voted overwhelmingly to block an oil export bill.
The vote comes after the US, France and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday sent a letter to the UN and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the bill.
The UN is now considering whether to challenge the vote, while the ICJ is expected to rule within days.
The UK’s Prime Minister, Theresa May, said the UK will continue to work with the rest of the EU to block the bill from reaching its final stage.
But US President Donald Trump and other critics have threatened to pull out of the agreement, saying the agreement is unfair to the US.
The House of Commons passed the bill on Wednesday.
