In the 1980s, Ford was one of the top three-four automakers in the world.
Now, the auto giant has fallen into disrepair, with some parts suppliers unable to get the brand new Model X on the road, and with the global automotive market struggling.
The U.S. is still the leader in new car sales with an average of nearly 12,000 a month, but that number has slipped to just over 8,000 since 2009.
Ford is in the process of exiting the auto market entirely, leaving the brand with only about 10,000 units of the model that are expected to be produced in 2019.
Ford’s fate is far from certain, as the company is looking for new financing and an infusion of cash from the state of Michigan.
Ford will be seeking to raise about $40 billion in cash, a source told Reuters.
As it struggles to get its business back on track, the company has been exploring ways to expand into the automotive market.
Sources familiar with the situation told Reuters that Ford is seeking to build a new factory in Michigan.
“Ford is exploring an expansion of its manufacturing footprint in Michigan, but the plan is to have a factory that is ready for delivery by 2019,” a source familiar with Ford’s plans told Reuters in a statement.
In recent months, Ford has struggled to find a new source of financing to keep the company afloat.
The company has had difficulty getting financing to continue operations.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is also struggling to keep pace with the market, with more than 1.1 million cars sold since it started producing the Chrysler 300 in 1999.
GM’s (GM) new Cadillac brand has been in a tailspin as well, selling just over 1.2 million cars since 2011, according to Autodata.
But Ford has been able to find buyers, as it has enjoyed strong sales in China.
According to Reuters, Ford is expected to announce a new vehicle to be sold in China by the end of this year.
With the Chinese market struggling to get new vehicles into the hands of buyers, Ford may find it hard to get financing to sustain its business.
That’s something Ford will need to do if it hopes to maintain its market share.
Although Ford is no longer the world’s largest carmaker, it still has the most production capacity.
It has more than 100,000 vehicles in its U.K. and European factories, as well as a fleet of more than 20,000 models in the U.A.E. and South America.
Despite its problems, Ford’s U.N. brand has not suffered the same fate as other car brands, with Ford making a lot of money off the brand.
For its part, Ford, which owns the U, British, and German brands, is still hoping that the global market will take a long-term view of its brand.
